Dramatic Dialogue - edited

“Hey, don’t blame me.
It wasn’t my fault.
How was I supposed to know
That the butler was going
To rob us?” she asked.

“Well, maybe you should
Have done a better
Background check or
Maybe not show him
Every part of the house,”
He explained in a
Condescending tone.

“I did not show him every part
Of the house. Only the kitchen, the
Bedroom, the bathrooms, and the
Laundry room. He must’ve
Snooped around when we weren’t
Home. Honestly, it wasn’t my fault,”
She snapped back, nose turned up in the
Air.

“Don’t talk to me that way!
You should’ve kept an eye on
Him when he was working,
Making sure he wasn’t doing
Anything fishy.”

“Me?” she asked, surprised by
What she was hearing. “How
Come you, yourself, weren’t
Capable of keeping an eye on
Him? I’m always
Driving to work, taking
The kids to and from school,
Buying groceries. I’m always out
The house. You could’ve
Supervised that butler”

“Why did we even need a
Butler in the first place? We
Were just fine before.” The
Man held his hands together
As a business man would in
A conference. She rolled her eyes.

“I clearly need help around this house.
That’s why I always asked for you
To aid me in chores and housekeeping.
But did you help out? Not at all.
Do you see why I needed a butler in the
First place?” She questioned him with an
Air of exasperation.

“I knew you needed help and I was
Going to surprise you this weekend
By cleaning up the whole house
While you were out shopping.” He
Crossed his arms.

“Were you really
Going to do that?”

“Of course, dear. Do
I really seem like the type
Of man who would leave
His wife to do all the dirty work?”

“Never stopped you before.
You are that type of man,
You’ve been that type of man
For years now. You always say
You’d help around the house, but
You never do. Our kids, who
Are barely in middle school,
Help out more than you do
And you call yourself the
‘Man of the house.’”

“I am the
Man of the house.
I pay the bills,
I help the kids with
Their homework, and
I fix whatever is broken
In this house. I’m really
Busy, too, if not
Busier.
Maybe, if
You had let me
Handle the butler matter
Instead of having it all be
On you, we wouldn’t
Be in this situation.”
He crossed his arms, and
Had the slightest smirk on
His face as if he won the
Argument.

“I told you that
I wanted to hire a
Butler, but you tossed
Aside the idea. I really
Needed help so I decided
To hire one anyway.
You always told me
To deal with my own
Problems whenever
You were too lazy to
Do anything that required
You to think. So don’t
Patronize me. I did what
I thought was right. Can
You say the same
Thing?”

He narrowed his eyes.
“You never used to talk
 To me like this. What
Happened to being
A team? We used
To get along so well.
What happened?”

“I don’t know. What did
Happen? But don’t try to
Stray off topic and
Make me seem like
The bad guy here. I
Know we both
Contributed to
This situation, but it’s
Obvious that you
Contributed more.
Don’t try to argue with
Me on this point. You know
It’s true.” She spoke surely.
